Finding the right keywords is crucial to driving traffic from search engines like google, yahoo, and msn. You must learn how to do keyword research correctly so you don’t spend hours working on something that doesn’t work.
If you want to rank well in search engines or beat your PPC competition, then you need to use keyword research tools to find the most targeted keywords with low competition…and high conversion rate…
keywords that people search for
keywords that are easy to rank for
keywords that are targeted for specific audience (longtail keywords)
Have you heard of content is king and keyword is queen?
I can’t help you create content but I can sure show you how I do keyword research to find profitable keywords.
Here are the keyword research basics using free keyword tools:
Go to ask.com and search for something broad, like “mlm opportunies’

It will return some related search phrases that people have searched for. But those are just general keywords that could have pretty high competition. If you’re good in SEO than go ahead use them.
Also, if you click on the right Ask Q&A section, you can find out questions that you can use for your keywords. Some of them are pretty good longtail keywords.

Your prospects usually ask questions in the search engine in order to get their problems solved, so these longtail keywords are very valuable. Use those keywords if you wanna easily rank number 1 in google to attract targeted leads.
Here are some words that you can add to your keywords to find longtail keywords. How to, review, where to, what is, scam, top ten, top 10, best, the best, buy….
Note that ask.com doesn’t show you valume of searches, but it’s good for aquire some basic keywords for further keyword list expansion.
This is my favorite free keyword research tool by far….and plus it’s powered by google. So the estimate traffic volume won’t stray too much away from the actual search volume. Maybe…well…it’s still a good keyword suggestion tool at least.
Let’s do some really basic research for “mlm opportunities” again:
It’s going to give you pretty decent amount of targeted keywords and related keywords, but most of them are too competitive. Competition is only good if you’re good. So for normal people like us, going for low competitive keywords will make your life much easier.
So you want to click “advertiser competition” to make it ascending from the lowest competition.

Here we found 4 keywords that are pretty specific and with less advertisers on adwords.
Well, here are two questions you might ask:
#1 Why are there only 4 keywords? I need more keywords!
#2 Will I easily rank well with those keywords in SEO?
Answer #1: Yes you do need more good keywords. There are only 4 keywords derived from a single broad keyword “mlm opportunities.” So think about it, if you insert 10 broad keywords, you might find 40 good keywords. The what you do next? You rinse and repeat those 40 keywords, and get 200 keywords. (40+10)*4=200. Rinse and repeat as many times as you can to find the best keywords to bid on.
Answer #2: Generally, lower competition in adwords means lower competition in SEO 80% of the time, but not always. So here’s what you do to see if your keyword competition in SERPs(search engine results page) is good.
First, go download SEO for firefox extension here. Don’t worry it’s completely virus-free. It’s very useful for online marketers.
Install it.
Turn it on
Take the keyword you want to rank for to goole search. Put quotes on the keyword. Search for exact pharses in the google search engine.
Let’s suppose we found a good keyword called “how to achieve network marketing success.”
We do a search with “how to achieve network marketing success” with quotes on.
This SEO for firefox tool will show you what pageranks of top ten listing in google. So here’s your chance to spot on your competition to see if it’s worth ranking with certain keywords.
You wan to add up all the page ranks together and divide it by 10 to get the average pagerank.
Don’t go for keywords that have average pagerank over 2.3 because it will be tough to get on the first page of google for that keyword. Not worth it unless you’re confident that you can crush them.
There are plenty of good keywords out there for you to discover. So you better hurry up and implement what you’ve learned to day to get on page 1 of google.
Stay tuned for the part 2 keyword research training.
